How to get to the LBDV

FROM THE AIRPORT

When arriving at the airport of Nice there are a couple of options to get to the marine station of Villefranche-sur-Mer.

BY TAXI

You will find taxis outside of the airport which can take you directly to the station. They charge about 50 to 60 euros for the trip (about 30 minutes). Check before leaving if they accept credit cards.

BUS

Busses are available to reach Villefranche-sur-Mer during the day. You can find them right in front of the airport exit. Check time schedules when arriving in the evening though! Tickets can be bought either in the bus in the airport office of ‘Lignes d’azur’ in front of the bus stops.

First you’ll have to take the bus NUMBER 98 ~ from the airport to the center of Nice. You get off at the Terminus “Promenade des arts”. This will take around 25 minutes. A ticket costs 6 euros

TERMINUS 98 “PROMENADE DES ARTS”

Once in Nice you have two options to get to Villefranche-sur-Mer: NUMBER 81 or NUMBER 100

BUS n° 81 ~ From Nice “Promenade des arts” to Villefranche-sur-Mer

Bus n° 81 can be found a little bit further from the terminus of bus n° 98.  A ticket costs 1, 50 euros

The bus stop for n°81:

BUS nr 100 ~ From Nice “Port” to Villefranche-sur-Mer

Currently bus n° 100 stops at the harbor of Nice, which is a 5 minute walk from the terminus of bus n° 98. This bus runs more often and later than bus n°81

Promenade des arts ~ port de Nice

From the Terminus turn right to the Garibaldi Square (Place Garibaldi), cross it and continue in the direction of the harbor of Nice via Rue Cassini. Go all the way to the end of the street and then turn left in the direction of the church “Notre Dame du Port”. You’ll find the bus stop a little further from the church.

From the bus stop “SAINT-ESTEVE” you walk back a little bit until you arrive at a little crossroad, here you’ll see on your left stairs going down. These are the ones you need to take all the way down until you reach the small harbor of Villefranche-sur-Mer.

From the airport, walk about 15 minutes until the St Augustin train station of Nice. There are also shuttles available from the airport, check with the personnel upon arrival. Take any train going in the direction of Monaco/Menton/Italy, just make sure it stops at Villefranche-sur-Mer.

From the train station you need to walk 25 minutes west, back towards Nice, to reach the marine station of Villefranche-sur-Mer (this walk will take you along the shore line).
